About Us
The JBS Institute is the social branch of J&F Group
It shares with the company the same principles – permanent compromise with innovation and endeavor to build a better society, always according to strict ethics and quality parameters.
The Institute’s main purpose consists in material ideas that have always been part of the concerns of JBS' founders. There are dozens of initiatives developed in all fronts of the organization, in areas like fighting slave labor, support to community projects, proposals of sustainable development, which are now gathered under the JBS Institute's management.
In its formalization, the JBS Institute will extend its main actions to educational projects, a sphere that allows the sustainable and permanent transformation of our reality.
The first challenge is stimulating: create a free regular Elementary II and High School wishing to combine academic excellence, preparing the youngsters to face the real problems of life. It is not a matter of simply offering vacancies in a traditional school, but of disseminating an educational proposal that may recognize their talents for more challenging life projects.
Education, environment, culture, food safety... with the Institute, the social projects will be more integrated and strategically conceived in order to multiply results. After all, competence, seriousness, determination must be present in all J&F Group's action fronts – and so will be in the area of social liability.
Origins
The starting point of the JBS Institute can be located in different times, depending on the perspective adopted.
On one side, it is possible to say that the Institute’s ideals had always been present in JBS' history and, therefore, its history remits to the company’s constitution and development, with last 50 years. However, it was in 2009, that this set of values and actions was consolidated under the figure of the JBS Institute, with the background of a solid corporate group that has social liability as one of its brands.
It is a new phase of a promising history, built everyday, with the determination, frankness and simplicity that has always been part of the J&F Group’s DNA.
